Happy Holidays!!!

Merry Christmas... Feliz Navidad..... Happy Channukah.... Happy Kwanzaa to all!!! I think that I pretty much wish everyone a merry, merry. Now a days you can't be to sure. Hey, you guys check out these cute ornaments that I made. I patterns are not my own. I got them from RoxyCraft. She always has some really cute patterns, most of which you have to pay a small fee for (well worth it). I just altered Santa and the Snowman a little. Hopefully I can get better pictures up here soon.

Gobble, Gobble everybody!!!

Hope that everyone has a great holiday. On the road again. Alabama here we come, with visions of cranberries and turkey and such. I think that it is suppose to be visions of sugarplums and all that jazz. I found this cool pattern the other day. I just added some legs onto my turkey. They came out pretty nice. I going to use this little guy and the pumpkins that I made in October for a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Hopefully Bittersweet doesn't mind me posting her pattern. But this is were I got the pattern from (it was a free pattern ya'll):

http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2006/11/07/gobble-gobble/

I was going to give this one to my Granny, but I think that I am going to keep him. I have been trying to keep the first of many of the things that I make. Anyway, hopefully everyone will have a safe and happy holiday.

P.S. Don't eat to much!!!

Two Birds In A Bush Are Worth....

You guys know how the saying goes. A co-worker of mine was out sick for a cuople of months, so I made her the little blue bird, Lizzie Bird. This particular co-worker is into bird watching and stuff.

I work at a Library and we do displays, well actual one display every month on a different subject. Since March is National Crochet Month they have asked me if I wouldn't mind doing the display for that month. It's that cool. So I think that I am going to put these little guys in the display. I can't wait to see how it comes together. I'll be sure to post pictures.

Happy
Halloween !!!
(or Happy Autumn if Halloween is not your thing)

Whew, it's been a long time. A lot has happened. I intergrated two different patterns to make these pumpkins they came out extremely well. Before my mom could see the first one she was telling me about a white pumpkin that she saw at Target and wanted to buy. It was this big styrofoam glossy white pumpkin and the price was crazy. So, that's the story behind me making the cream colored one. I hope that everyone has a great Halloween or whatever. Be Safe!!!

Spring Flowers

I always have problems finding black earrings that I like, so I amde some. The picture is not that good. But, the actual earrings came out very cute. I made some for a few other people first. Theirs are smaller, but cute never the less. Now, I want to make some in like every color, to go with everything. I haven't had the time to do much of anything else. Flowers kind of work up fairly quickly. So I think that I can squeeze some in, here and there.

New Girls!!!!

What's up DOC? This little one is for my friend Dee. I think that she is really going to love her. Can you believe taht I finally found the time to finish somethings. They came out rather nice, even though I was running off of fumes and a lack of sleep. This is the first time that I experimented with making long pant, instead of the short pants on any of the girls. I wear flowers in my hair (reminisent of Billie Holliday) all the time. So that's why I gave Lil' Doc one in her hair. Cute, right?

I added a little flutterbye (butterfly) as my sister has affectionately renamed them, to the pant leg to jazzy them up a little. It took me a minute to remember what it is that I did to make the first doll. I'm running out of time, Holla back whenever I get another free moment.

Not Enough Time

I have been so busy with my new job and looking for somewhere to move that I have not not that much time to get anything done. There is not enough time in the day for me. It takes me 2 hours to get to and from work. Well, that is because I am on public transportation. I tell you I get a lot of reading done. I'm thinking though that I will be able to buy a car soon, (hopefully). I have yet to finish anything that I start. Everytime that I start something I fall asleep. I'm going through crochet withdrawals, ya'll. I just stop by my old job to hope on the internet and try to get back in the loop.

Tick, Tick, Tick !!!

Someone resently told me about a FallFest, coming up in October, hence the name FallFest. Anyway, It's like literally right around the corner. I want to get a booth. But, I wonder how big of a stash I can crochet up within that time. I already have about seven projects I'm working on for a few people. So, I don't know. I think that I am going to do the festival. I just don't know if I'll have enough for both days. Hmmmmm. That's me pondering what to do. I going to give myself about 2 weeks to decide.

Give Me Something Sweet.

(Don't You Wanna Take A Bite?)

Happy Birthday to me. Yesterday was my birthday and I actually enjoyed myself. I really didn't do that much. But, all in all it was a good day. I made this cupcake a few days ago. Oops, I forgot the candle. Doesn't that mean I don't have to add another year to my age. My friend from high school bought me Women of Brewsters Place And Carmen (the original) DVDs, a Bath & Body Works gift set and two pair of playboy bunny flip flops. I really don't have anything going on right now. I just have a some stuff for a few people that I am working on.

Under The Sea

Here's what I have been working on. Meet Aquanetta. The hair took the longest, it took about four days to complete her flowing mane of turquoise. I know it was a bit much, but I also crochet the rock upon which she is perched. My mom is the photographer of the family, so her and Aquanetta had a photo shoot the other day. I'm thinking about selling her, I don't know yet.

Full Of Good Fortune.

I made these little fortune cookies for one of my cousins. I sent them in a little chinese take-out box. I even customized the little fortunes that I put inside of the cookies. I hopes she likes them, they are a late birthday gift. I've been commissioned to make a few things for my hairstylist's boutique. I have yet to get to my amigurumi ideas I came up with while I was sick. I applied for this job at another library in the county,I pray that it goes well, ya'll. It will be a great opportunity for me.

Out Of Commission :(

I've been sick the past week. One of my cousin's children past on a helped stomach virus to me. I was sick as a dog. All of my creative juices were zapped. I had no energy to do anything at all. Believe it or not, one good thing came of it, I lost a few pounds. I'm at work today, readjusting my once snug pants, over and over again. So I'm back at it. I have a few ideas that were cooked up while lying there puking my guts out. I tell you I can't see how anorexic girls do that constantly. It's so draining physically. Mentally too. Anywho, that is totally a whole other subject. Hope everyone else had a great, productive weekend. Smooches, ya'll.
Check Out My Fortune Of The Day.

The Big Reveal

Drum roll, please!!! Okay enough of that. I have secretly been working on this little girlie. Well I actually finished her about two weeks ago. I think that she came out rather nice. The little poncho can be taken off and she has on yellow tank taop. I took me a while to figure out how to get the feet with the flip flops to come out right. She even has knees, how cute. I very proud of how she looks. I added some little glasses (not shown). I decided to keep her for myself. I rarely keep things.

Here is anothor clutch I made for my sister. The picture is a bit fuzzy(no pun intended). She loves SpongeBob, so it's a fuzzy yellow with a SpongeBob lining. The picture of the inside came out really dark.

Pink and White on The Brain.

No, I am not pregnant. I finally finished this baby set that my stepmom asked me to make for her friends son. It's his first child, anyway there is a hat and a pair of booties that are not in the photo. I thought that she needed the set by the beginning of May, turns out she doesn't need it til June. After dealing with all of this pink and white I decided to punk out a bit, so I made this clutch last night.

It worked up rather quickly, took about 2 hours. I also added a pink lining on the inside. I think that it came out nice, of course my sister already has dibs. The pattern was in the latest edition of Stitch 'n' Bitch: The Happy Hooker, (which has bunches of great patterns). In other news my mom just had her 49th birthday yesterday. I'm going to try and take her to the Georgia Aquarium this or next weekend. You have to buy the tickets way in advance. Should be nice, I'll let you guys know.

Here Kitty-Kitty...

I finished making this Amineko Kitty awhile ago, his name is Patches. I kept forgeting to post a picture. I'm allergic to cats, so this is the only way I can be around one. I actually made him before I got the crochet pattern for the Amineko Cat. So I did him by sight. I think that he came out rather nice. So, I will see how my next one, by the pattern comes out. My mom surprised me and made me a bookmark with the picture of the monkeys on the front and back. That was so nice, no matter how irrating she is somethings, things like that is why I'll keep her. My stepmom ask me to made a bolero for her daughter and a baby blanket set for someone else. So I need to make a visit to the neighborhood yarn shop. She told me I need to look into getting a discount card for the amount of yarn I buy.

Check out this notebook cover I just made the other night. I finally recieved my new cushioned crochet hooks yesterday afternoon.

It is seven of them, sizes 2.5 to 5.5, they should come in very handy. I have alot of other things that I want to start working on soon. Let you guys know how they come out.

A Barrel Full Of Monkeys!

OKay.... so it's not a barrel. But, you get the jist. They are actually hanging from my yarn caddy. I tell you them darn monkeys get into everything. I have been on a monkey making spree, I had monkey parts everywhere. Now, I'm working on a Amineko Cat for someone. I bid on and won some Soft Touch Crochet Hooks on Ebay. Cool Right? Anyway, that should help out a lot.

Happy Birthday To You !!!

I have completely finished 3 of the monkeys. Two brown and this one purple one. This one is for my cousin Michelle, Friday is her Birthday and purple is her favorite color. I hope she likes it. I think that they are coming along great, (whenever I can find time to work on them). I also have developed a callus at the base of my pinky finger from making all the monkeys with those little needles. Well, I can't totally blame the little hooks, that's just me trying to divert blame. I just have a big problem choking up on the little needles, you know like holding them to hard to make sure that the stitches are tight. Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of this bothersome callus?

Who's Bright Idea Was This Anyway?

I've had a few people to ask me to make them monkeys, six to be exact. So, I came up with this bright idea to do like an assembly line style thing, were I do all the appendages at one time, then stuff them, then sew the monkeys together. NOT, such a great idea. Forgot that I have a short attention span and that my mind tends to wonder sometimes (majority of the time). But, I have gotten through the legs and ears, Yay! But, I still feels as though I am not making any progress at all. Unrelated info, The birthday girl really like her poncho. The party was great, and we danced all night long.

Great Last Minute Gift

I totally forgot about a birthday party that I was invited to attend later this evening. Yesterday when I was working on my Amineko Cat, I got a reminder phone about the party. I hate going to a function empty handed, you know what I mean? So, I whipped up this quick poncho. I think that it is the perfect last minute gift. It worked up pretty quickly and I know she will love it because she keeps trying to take the one that I make for her sister for the holidays. Little sisters, I swear. (speaking of little sister, let's thank my little sister/model, Free).

My First Atempt At Amigurumi

I've mentioned it before the lion that I made which was my first amigurumi. So....I just wanted to share a picture of my little Simba. I actually made him before the monkey (which was previously posted). Yesterday I found an free Amineko Cat Pattern.

It was on http://kinkylilblackdress.blogspot.com, I'll let you guys know how it comes out.

Free Rules !¡!

We went to see my sister, Free play in her first college tennis tournament. She won 2 matches that we saw today and a lot of matches we didn't catch. It was cool to meet her other team mates. They all were very nice and seem to get along very well. I know that it is not such a great picture, but I took it with my camera phone. That's all that I have to work with right now. I think that the pics are coming out rather well.

FW: FW:

Monkey, Monkey, Who's Got The Monkey?

Ta-Da!!! Finally, I was able to add one of my pictures onto my blog (without the use of a digital camera). So.... Here's the monkey that I made I guess about a week and a half ago, hanging from my bedroom curtain. I think that he is the cutest thing ever. I saw a picture of a small crochet monkey, that had only chains for the feet and arms, so this is what I came up with from looking at the picture.

I'm hooked!!!!!!!
(No Pun Intended)

I came across a pattern for a Amigurumi, like in November '05. Saturday after a long day at work. Tired of reading the book that I have been reading for the past couple of days. You know my hands were very restless and just needing something relaxing to do. Rummaging through my yarn stash to see what moves me to create something interesting. I came across this orange fuzzy yarn, it's quite pretty and that's saying alot because I'm not a fan of orange. Anywho, reading to the end of the pattern I realized that I didn't have the entire pattern. So, I just put it down. Then, I made an Amigurumi lion. That orange yarn made the perfect mane for my little Simba. I love, love, love it. It came out very cute in only a matter of hours. I sent a picture of it to my sister Free, from my camera phone. You know what that means, right? Now, she has all kinds of request. I'm hooked. What to make next? I sketched out a few ideas last night at about 1:00 this morning. I'm going to have to buy a digital camera and new computer.

Peek-A-Boo!!!!!

Guess who decided to grace us with her presence on Sunday? My little sister, Free. She made her boyfriend feel so bad, that he came and got her Sunday. I was livid. Like what you coming up here for a few hours. But, once she arrived, it was really, really great to see her. She was glad to see us, beacuse on the way back she talked just about the entire way to school. Which is so very unusual, because she has car-colepsy. She falls asleep at the drop of a dime, once she's in the car and it starts rolling. Anywho, it was good to see (like I don't talk to her everyday).

On The Road Again......

I have been busy, busy, busy. My little sister came home a few weeks back. Her boyfriend came home and then went to Albany, GA and brought her home. Isn't that cute? (Mom and I will have to take her back, though.)We went to Alabama to visit the following week. It was fun. I got my ear pierced, in the upper cartilage. I think that it look rather cool. But, that's not all I got in Alabama. I came back with a bad cold. Well, in actuality I came back okay, my mom had the cold and coughed on everything in sight and shared the germs. Thanks Mom. I think that my sister is trying to make yet another weekend trip up here. (So, yet again we will have to make the 3 hour pilgramige to Albany). I feel like a trucker, "on the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again" Actually I can wait. I still can not get pics on here. I think that I'm going to have to break down and buy another computer. Smooches.... I'll talk with you later.

To Crochet or Not To Crochet ......
That Is The Question?

Right now I'm so torn between reading this book I just pick up and finishing this sweater that I started working on mid last week. It's a rainy, rainy day here in the ATL and I'm stuck at work with a cold. My uncomfortable bed at home seems so inviting right now. I would love to post the things that I am working on but my dinosaur of a computer is stuck the stone ages and badly in need of repair. I am thinking of getting a new one because I keep putting more and more money into this computer and it seems to be getting worse and slower. Hopefully somsething will happen soon.

A New Day/ Same Old Bag

When a new day starts, why does it always carry over the same old baggage? Not just yesterdays stuffbut, yester-year's stuff resurfacing .Just bubbling right underneath the surface of your being. Even though you thought you had let it go and moved forward. All of a sudden it peeks out at you. Shaking off that old garbage is so hard.

But, the harder thing to do is opening up for the new and better possibilities of life. It's difficult to let the good thing seep in. It causes you to get into this bad repetitive cycle of bad behavior. I guess that's why they say old habits die hard. How do you deal and move on?

Beginnings!!!

Well, well, well lookie what we have here.
Someone's joining the World Wide Web.

Happy New Years ! Welcome to my inter-sanctum. In the beginning there were letters and journals. Then, as technologies evolved so did our means to communicate and express our different points of view. Through email and now blogs. So that brings me here. I've decided to jump on the blog train. I figurred that itis a very good way to vent about things and share my ideas and such.
