It's been a Long TIme... I have been working on quite a few things. But, there is not enough time in the day. I truly don't realize how those mothers, with multiply kids and outside jobs, still find time to craft and blog. Phew, that's alot. Anyway, here are a few things that I have been working on. Above is my chain link necklace. I love it. I'm not a big fan of purple, but that was my test yarn color and it came out so beautiful. You probably can't tell to much in the picture, but the yarn has a bit of a silver shimmer to it. Below are some earrings that I made for a friend. There were a ton more, but these are the ones that I photographed at the last minute.
Much love blog family, I need to get better with dividing my time between life, crafting, blogging, reading, family and working.
P.S. I changed my blog layout and added a banner to the top and the bottom of the page. If you click the bottom banner it takes you to my Etsy Shop. Let me know what you think.
In other news: Today, I mourn on my birthday, because of the lost of someone that everybody in the world adored for whatever reason. I am still in shock right now over the sudden passing of a legendary musical genius, MICHAEL JACKSON. I am also disgusted at some other the media outlets that are focusing on all the negativity and not the tons of musical contributions that he shared with the world. Just my opinion, but I feel that they focused on these negative issues (true are not) during the remainder of his life. It's so many of his songs and dances that bring back a flood of energized memories, for me and others. So, in death maybe he should be alloted some empathy for his musical genius. Anyway, may he get peace in the here after and gain the love and acceptance that he so obviously longed for.

Remember those Sweetheart Candies?
Here's a scarf I made inspired by them.
I had a bear of a time sewing together all of those hearts. That's the only part of doing anything crafty I hate, the sewing. All together it was 21 separate pieces, that I attached together to make the scarf. I didn't put any saying on the hearts that will go around the neck I figured it would be a little irritating to the skin and it would be to bent to make out.
Anyway, my intentions were to sell it on Etsy, but I really didn't finish in enough time to ship it by Valentines. Now my sister is asking for an Anti-Valentines version, with sayings like Love Sucks, Bite Me........ I think its a great idea. I actually had to keep myself from writing such things on the hearts in the first place, trying to keep in mind that I was making it for a potential customer. I Love It. One of my coworkers wants it. But, I think that I'm going to make another one and personalize it for her.

My niece's dad bought her a shirt that she already has in the same size and everything, so I did a onesies Revamp. I just crocheted a little mini skirt onto the little shirt with a mini heart brooch, to match the hearts that cover the onesies.
I also made a few hats for the little one in the family. Mostly food themed hats. Including a Cupcake and a Pumpkin Hat. Sorry the Cupcake picture is from the trusty camera phone, which was the only thing handy at the time.

First off I've been M.I.A for quite a long time, guys.
Well, here goes. What's better than food, you got it Miniature Foods! My cousin needed some things to accompany a small grocery buggy that my mom gave her a few years back. First of all she never puts anything on her desk. So, I decided to surprise her with a bunch of goodies. I tell you sooner or later we are only going to be able to afford food this size, if prices keep going up. Anyway...
The shopping cart has a Oprah Magazine and an Essence Magazine, 3 bags of Potatoe Chips (including Limon Her Favorite),
box of Celestial Seasonings Green Tea (another Fave),
a Mrs. Smiths Apple Pie,
Here's the back of the Pie Box......
a Crochet Steak,
Everything came out very well, being that I made up things has as I went along. Thanks for looking.

It's been a long time. Why don't you have a slice of pie. Here is a little something special that I made my sister. She loves odd things. She has been home for a few weeks and she wears it everyday. I have been quite busy. I started a Etsy page, but have yet to put anything on it. Knitting has also become a challenge to me, I think that I am finally getting the hang of it. My current W.I.P is a scarf in the purl stitch (the only stitch that I know at the moment). I'm also getting prepared (& nervous) for a Crochet Workshop that I shall be teaching in the beginning of February. If anyone has any tips to help me with me class, please let me know.
Wanna a bite?

Guys, let me know which one you like the most... I think it was very cute.
I got it to work, Thanks Debb

Look at the treat that I had waiting on me when I got home. I'm only mad that I am getting to it so late, because I can't start on anything. Sorry for the bad pic, still using my camera phone. I so high tech, ya'll.
This is a book by Beth Doherty of "Gourmet Amigurumi", containing all original amigurumi patterns by Doherty. Now, I read a couple things last year that amigurumi means "a stuff toy, stitched (crocheted or knited) in a round". In her book Beth gives a detailed break down of the meaning of amigurumi. Here it is as she puts it in her intro--(not word for word)
"Amigurumi-pronounced ah-mee-guh-ROO-mee, Ami is short for the word Amimie meaning "stitch" in Japanese. Gurumi is a hyphenation of the Japanese word Nuigurumi, meaning "stuffed doll or toy". Anyway, if I have to pick a favorite(s), it somewhere between Strawbeary, Beat Nik Kitty (Hep Cat), and Fawn. Enough with the book report , just go out and pick up a copy of this book.

It's been awhile. A lot of things have been going on. Anyway, here is what I'd look like if i were a simpson's character. I haven't seen the movie, my little sister simpsonized me. She loves "The Simpsons", can we all say fanatic. She totally got me down packed, I'm always somewhere, arms folded with a smirk on my face (the librarian's stare, that's what she calls that look). Well there is not really anything going on in my life right now, so that's all folks.

Want a piece of cake...
Actually it's a cupcake purse. It is the cutest thing. I just got the pattern in the mail yesterday in the mail. I bought it at Etsy from the purl.esty.com store. She has bunches of really cute patterns and items for sell. Well worth a try, ya'll. I started on it this making this purse this morning and finished it a few hours ago. It worked up extremely fast and the pattern was so easy to follow. The purse was going to be for my cousin's four year daughter, but I'm going to keep it. I'll make her a brighter pink one. She is very girlie and I'm sure she will love it. My 19 year old sister is already trying to get her hands on this small one, unless I promise to make her a bigger one. I also notice that I have taken to crocheting lots of different foods. What'up with that?

!!! National Crochet Month !!!
Crochet Anyone!!!
Did anyone else know that among other things, March is officially National Crochet Month. Or do I totally sound like a spazz. Anyway, I was asked by my job to do a display of some of my work for the month of March. Well, here it is. It's a small display , but tell me what you guys think. It's amazing the big boom that crocheting and knitting has had in the past two years. My 19 year old sister still calls me a grandma half the time, but in the same breath, "Ooooh, make me that". Since I have put the display up at the library where I work, there has been a great deal of interest. One mom came and told me about her daughters eighth birthday party entitled, "Isn't it great, I'm eight let's Cro-cheight!" Wasn't that really cute.

Hey, you guys check out these cute ornaments that I made. I patterns are not my own. I got them from RoxyCraft. Gobble, Gobble everybody!!!

Hope that everyone has a great holiday. On the road again. Alabama here we come, with visions of cranberries and turkey and such. I think that it is suppose to be visions of sugarplums and all that jazz. I found this cool pattern the other day. I just added some legs onto my turkey. They came out pretty nice. I going to use this little guy and the pumpkins that I made in October for a Thanksgiving centerpiece.
Hopefully Bittersweet doesn't mind me posting her pattern. But this is were I got the pattern from (it was a free pattern ya'll):

I was going to give this one to my Granny, but I think that I am going to keep him. I have been trying to keep the first of many of the things that I make. Anyway, hopefully everyone will have a safe and happy holiday.
P.S. Don't eat to much!!!

Two Birds In A Bush Are Worth....
You guys know how the saying goes. A co-worker of mine was out sick for a cuople of months, so I made her the little blue bird, Lizzie Bird. This particular co-worker is into bird watching and stuff.
I work at a Library and we do displays, well actual one display every month on a different subject. Since March is National Crochet Month they have asked me if I wouldn't mind doing the display for that month. It's that cool. So I think that I am going to put these little guys in the display. I can't wait to see how it comes together. I'll be sure to post pictures.

Happy
Halloween !!!
(or Happy Autumn if Halloween is not your thing)
Whew, it's been a long time. A lot has happened. I intergrated two different patterns to make these pumpkins they came out extremely well. Before my mom could see the first one she was telling me about a white pumpkin that she saw at Target and wanted to buy. It was this big styrofoam glossy white pumpkin and the price was crazy. So, that's the story behind me making the cream colored one. I hope that everyone has a great Halloween or whatever. Be Safe!!!

Spring Flowers

I always have problems finding black earrings that I like, so I amde some. The picture is not that good. But, the actual earrings came out very cute. I made some for a few other people first. Theirs are smaller, but cute never the less. Now, I want to make some in like every color, to go with everything. I haven't had the time to do much of anything else. Flowers kind of work up fairly quickly. So I think that I can squeeze some in, here and there.

New Girls!!!!

What's up DOC? This little one is for my friend Dee. I think that she is really going to love her. Can you believe taht I finally found the time to finish somethings. They came out rather nice, even though I was running off of fumes and a lack of sleep. This is the first time that I experimented with making long pant, instead of the short pants on any of the girls. I wear flowers in my hair (reminisent of Billie Holliday) all the time. So that's why I gave Lil' Doc one in her hair. Cute, right?

I added a little flutterbye (butterfly) as my sister has affectionately renamed them, to the pant leg to jazzy them up a little. It took me a minute to remember what it is that I did to make the first doll. I'm running out of time, Holla back whenever I get another free moment.

I have been so busy with my new job and looking for somewhere to move that I have not not that much time to get anything done. There is not enough time in the day for me. It takes me 2 hours to get to and from work. Well, that is because I am on public transportation. I tell you I get a lot of reading done. I'm thinking though that I will be able to buy a car soon, (hopefully). I have yet to finish anything that I start. Everytime that I start something I fall asleep. I'm going through crochet withdrawals, ya'll. I just stop by my old job to hope on the internet and try to get back in the loop.
